Chocobo Raising Debuts in FINAL FANTASY XI!

The highly anticipated chocobo raising has finally made its debut in FINAL FANTASY XI. Now you can raise your very own chocobo! Players will be able to watch over the development of every aspect of their own personal chocobo from birth to retirement.

With the cooperation of the VCS (Vana'diel Chocobo Society), adventurers will be able to create care plans and raise their very own chocobos. Eventually, players will be able to breed their fully grown chocobos and possibly produce rare and expensive eggs!

Chocobo Raising has hit Vana'diel! Players have been clamoring for this since the release of the game, and the dev team has answered. Players all across the world have become entranced by the ability to raise their very own chocobo. It's exciting to watch your chocobo grow each day and make sure it's healthy. There have definitely been some funny names coming out of the naming system, too. Everyone's trying to breed the ultimate chocobo in time for the debut of Chocobo Racing. I wonder what kind of races we'll see with such a wide variety of chocobos being raised now…

We talked to a few of our FINAL FANTASY XI game testers to find out what they thought about Chocobo Raising.

Alfie - "Chocobo Raising really appeals to players because it adds a whole new experience to the game. You really feel attached to your chocobo because of the bond forged during growth stages, giving them a unique name, and caring for them for such a long time. It really makes the player feel more personally connected to the game."

Steven - "Chocobo Raising really enhances the game as a whole. For the first time ever, FINAL FANTASY XI players have their own personal chocobo, and that's a big improvement over just renting one for short trips."

Kythera - "I think this will encourage people to explore the world more and take greater risks when traveling. Players who don't go to certain areas because of the travel time may make the trip and find new areas to play in."
