The adventurers of Vana'diel recently took part in the annual Valentione's Day event where players make love connections by exchanging chocolate hearts. We know that many players have made life-long friendships adventuring in the world of Vana'diel and this event was a perfect way for players to reminisce about the good times they have experienced together. In that spirit, we decided to seek out individuals who participated in the Valentione's Day event across all worlds, listen to their stories and feature them here in our special edition of the newsletter.
Love chocolates, when eaten, enhance MP recovered while healing, but the effects are more precious than any statistic boost. Dragonkeeper, from Fairy, revealed just how special these heartfelt items can be:

Community: I saw you have a heart chocolate in your bazaar!
Dragonkeeper: ^^; Yeah, a good friend of mine gave me that, I don’t remove it ever. ^^;
Community: It’s a very special item to you, I see!
When a player completes the Valentione's Day event successfully they have a chance of receiving either the Miracle or Charm Wand. When players work together in a party to get these items, the rods will be signed with their partner's name! Working together helps brings players closer as friends and you can often tell a strong couple of adventurers by their equipment as paired Miracle/Charm Wands definitely show the strongest connection of all! We had an opportunity to speak to Kerfuffle, another adventurer from Fairy, who told us about doing the Valentione's event with a friend:
Community: Your dual wielded Miracle Wands caught my eye!
Kerfuffle: My friend likes it when I have them on for her.
Community: That's really cool, did you spend a lot of time doing this event together?
Kerfuffle: A few hours yes, we thought it would be fun to do together.
Community: What was the best part of the event for you?
Kerfuffle: Well I asked her and we'd have to agree it was getting a cute wand with each others names on them.
Community: I agree, that is pretty special!
Kerfuffle: Yeah it was a nice little thing to do.
It can sometimes be difficult for new players to make friends and meet people in a world of thousands from all levels and regions. One of the advantages of the Valentione's Day event is that it encourages teamwork and gives players that extra little push they might need to approach that special someone. Sometimes that's all it takes to build friendships that last a lifetime. Primarosa, from Ragnarok told us a little bit about acquiring her Charm Wand:
Community: Did you do the event with a good Vana'diel friend?
Primarosa: Yes, with Cerealkiller both last year and this year.
Community: Oh so you did the event with the same person both times!
Primarosa: Yes.
Primarosa: The event was funny and simple. The reward only has personal value, but it is very nice.
The bonds created living and adventuring together in the world of Vana'diel are very strong. It's wonderful to see the devotion that springs forth from playing together. Our most inspiring interview came from Seigexax and Hikarii, a couple from Hades, who told us all about participating in the event:
Community: What did you enjoy most about the event?
Hikarii: Um… the item we could get, it has our name on it.
Hikarii: and its cute!
Community: The Charm Wand!
Seigexax: Spending time together and having a good time and the wands!
Hikarii: Yes ^^
Community: Very nice!
Seigexax: I always have the wand with me since we did the event together.
Community: :D
Community: Did you go for the +1 version?
Hikarii: I have the +1 version ^^
Seigexax: Hikarii got hers ^^ I didn't get it though.
Community: How did you two meet?
Hikarii: We were in the same LS before, then we met in front of the Auction House.
Community: Love at first transaction!
Hikarii: yes ^^
Community: How long have you both been together?
Hikarii: 1 ½ years ^^
Seigexax: Little over a year and 6 months now. ^^
Hikarii: We celebrated it recently.
Community: Maybe Seigexax used one of Cupid's Arrows on you, Hikarii!
Seigexax: Maybe! :P
Hikarii: I think so too, I'm happy he did!
Community: Aww <3
